Galleries - Bagan, Myanmar

The ancient empire of Pagan, now called Bagan, began in the second century according to the Glass Palace Chronicles.  The height of the empire covered the eleventh to thirteenth centuries.  Most of the ruins today come from that period.  Thousands of them cover sixteen square miles along the east bank of the Irrawaddy River in Central Myanmmar.  The photos here represent a tiny sample of what you will find.
